Our 13" sunshine Oscar is truly peaceful. We were given a couple hundred 1" or so convicts today. We dropped 40 in his tank and he pays them no attention!? His smaller tank mates (6"tiger Oscar and7" rtm) had a feast! Just funny.

Thats so awesome! I experienced the opposite, had an oscar that killed literally everything I tried to put with it.

Ya if he was never fed live food he may not consider them dinner. Or he is just getting fat lazy and old like mine ;)

Not sure. Haven't had an Oscar in years. Bought this guy a few months ago. He was already 13". Just a cool docile fish. Its funny though he absolutely destroys pellets!!!

Sounds like my jag. Won't touch a small feeder but will demolish pellets in freaking gulps lol

My 13" oscar is about 14 months old and I raised him from an inch to now and from 1-10" I fed him mostly live feeders (I know its bad now but this was my first fish) and he would destroy anything small on the spot. But one day I threw in pellets along with the feeders like i always did but for some reason he ate all the pellets and left the fish alone. After about a week of a dozen feeders in there i had to actually get rid of them. Now for the past 5 months he refuses to eat anything live besides the occasional crayfish, but he is so calm I keep all my cory cats with him and most are less than an inch long. There are more than a few other species in my 75 with him but none bigger than 4-5'' and he is fine with all of them. Around the same time he let me start decorating the tank the way I liked and not the way he liked. The only thing is if i take out/add fish or change his surroundings AT ALL he pouts in the corner for a few hours but is then fine afterwards. I have moved past Oscars for the most part and would never get another but I will keep Dimitri till the day he dies.
