ive been reading about pikes and most of the things i see say they are pretty brutal fish. im setting up a SA tank and thinking of getting a pike. im going to be stocking it with 2 jurupari, psittacus, severum, uaru, a flagtail and maybe a chocolate cichlid. what pike if any will fit in with my stock in a 125g
peaceful pikes?

it depends on the temperment of the individual pike, but there are some that tend to be more aggressive. You should be fine w/ any saxatillis group pike, like lucius, sveni, etc. I'm sure someone else will give you more options.
i had a sveni that ruled the tank with a iron fist but he was first fish in the tank along with a oscar (same time and size) then 2 not much smaller jags along with 3 small firemouths. he hated the oscar and kept him pinned in a corner. jags were tore up. firemouths 1 eatin and other 2 beat to hell till they had dark stress markings on them. my avatar is him
Generally pike cichlids are solitary creatures, i owned a 13 inch crenicichla johanna and it was ment to be alone, it tore anything to shreds that it was kept with. A good way to attempt to tame a pike is to raise it with similar sized fish with the same temprement, i am raising some xingu sp 1 with smaller cichlids and they seem pretty tame for the time being, this will probably fade with age though. in general they are best kept in a species aquarium
