I need some advice one picking out a peacock bass. I'm going to be getting a single pbass for a 180 gallon tank. In the tank, will be:
1x Florida Gar(14")
1x Red tail payara(currently 6.5")
1x ornate bichir(8")
1x semi large catfish(i haven't decided yet)
The bass will be kept in a 75 gallon grow out till it is big enough to be with the others. I just have some questions. What do you recommend that I get for my tank? I'm considering between cichla ocellaris, orinocenis, or monoculus. I looking for a good mix of green and orange or whatever species is likely to have the most color. I also want to know if its possible that the pbass could quickly outgrow the payara and eat him. This will be my second time owning peacocks so I'm super happy about it. The first time didn't work out so well and that was over a year ago and I think I can do it this time.
PS: please don't complain about tank size. I know some of you will not agree that it is an adequate tank size for pbass but I just need to hold them for a few years until I'm on my own and can get a bigger aquarium.
