my awesome 10" peacock bass arived today from a flight from lax to long island . when i opened the box he was upside down and gasping for air . his eyes were white and slime layer looked melted. i am guessing this is a case of ammonia poisining . has anyone else experienced this ? i know it is uncureable but i am hopeing since my water quality is good he may recover ? any help would be egg-zelent . his water was cool to the touch, i keep mine around 83 ish . aclimated him slowly, he is still breathing but motionless for about 4 hours now
