So my lfs has has 4 temensis about 3" for $49 each, and 4 monocolus each of which were about 3" for $25 each. They have had them for about a week and a half now and they look good and all seem to be eating. So my question is can i mix these fish in one tank or do they have to be kept separate? the tank is 72x36. also is this a good price for these fish?

You can mix them. I keep tems with monos. You would need a much bigger tank for them eventually though as tems can grow to 3 foot. Not for a couple of years though.

i agree, you can keep them both in the same tank, but the tems grow alot faster than the monos.

price wise, if its hard to come by where you are then its worth the extra couple of bucks, but if you can talk the dude down to a package deal with tems and monos, thats going to be a better bet for you. just my two cents.

For LFS.. That is a fair price :)

which do you like better?
they can be kept in groups.
in fact,i think theyre better in groups.
tems grow faster and get to 3 feet.
monos get to 2 feet.
honestly though,i dont think tems really do grow THAT fast compared to monos...

Not sure if this is still effective but it's on the main page.
