I noticed on my peacock bass a couple of days ago he had like a lil scratch on his left eye...next day it starts turning white and now its got a white film over the lens of both eyes!!! all the water params are fine and the only thing different thats been done lately is i fed them rosy reds from a local fish store that i buy them from regularly...ive added salt and just been watchin but just wanna get some suggestions...i also have an ass of maracyn 2, i know it cured the popeye on my clown knife but will it work on this cloud eye?

wow, i just got home tonight and now his fins look terrible on top of that!!! what the hell!!!

What are your water parameters? Tank size? Tankmates?

I'd stop feeding feeders anymore and try safer options such as frozen bloodworms, shrimps, commercial products and beefheart instead. Feeders are not always 100% disease-free. There's no guarantee for that unless you breed them yourself and make sure they are totally free from any health issues.

Antibiotics are not necessary at this point until we have all the necessary details. It's not always all the time antibiotics can help especially if your issues turn out to be water quality-related.

How will you resolve whatever issue your cichla may have if you don't try to investigate the cause? Normally, cloudy eyes issues don't go as seriously as this but this has me wondering if there is more to this than just finrot and cloudy eyes.

I'd inveastigate the water quality as well, because the death of the fish does not rid the tank of any underlying problem

ended up checkin my water params after the peacock bass died and everything was fine, could a bad batch of rosies done that to him? the day he died that morning he lookd god awful...just like he was rotting to death or something, i dunno, just know he was the only one to get like that in my tank...either way my fish wont eat store bought feeders any more, thanks anyways guys
