I've had mixed feedback about this in the past -- I have 4 pbass in a growout tank all about 2-3 inches, got them when they had to be a little under 1 inch... all they're eating right now are live feeders. When is the right time to try moving them onto pellets/frozen food? should they be at a certain size?

SOME People say wait till they get 8'' to bring out color I believe the sooner the better..I feed mine black worms as a staple diet and a feeders once a week but i TRAIN with 1 feeder the krill then 1 feeder then krill, eventually thye hit anything that hits the water...

Try getting some frozen bloodworms. thaw the cube in a cup and siphon some out with a medium sized medicine dropper. Squeeze a few in the tank and see if they hit them. I would bet they will. The best thing you can do for them is feed them a variety. Theres no real need to push them onto other foods at this point if they wont take it though. Feed them whatever they will eat but do it in small amounts. 3 small meals daily is better than one big one.

I cut up the feeders to feed them then once there use to sinking food they will learn to pick up other type of frozen food. Its works every time I pick up a little fry which the lfs says only take live feeders. I recently got my 2 inch occellaris to take beef heart, shrimp, and tilapia cuts within 2 days. The lfs only fed them white clouds.

i had this problem as well, i starved them. tried pellets one day and 1 of eat it, a few days later both were eating pellets
