I have a 9 inch orino peacock bass and I just got him but he won't eat anything except for feeders I had them for 2 weeks now and I want to know if anyone can help me get him off of the feeders and eating frozen food.
Don't specifically have experience with bass, but with other fish I've owned I typically transferred them by starving them a few days then introducing the frozen food.
I have a peacock bass-smaller than yours-who eagerly ate feeders whenever they were put in my tank. I planned on continuing to feed him feeders until I was told to avoid live food and stick to carnivore pellets. I bought Hikari sinking carnivore pellets recently and, even though they barely fit into his mouth, he will keep attacking it until he swallows it. I'm not sure how to convert a bass from feeders to frozen-because I haven't fed mine frozen food-but my bass isn't too picky.
Use up whatever feeders you have left and then discontinue them.Orinos usually take to pellets relatively easily so let it fast for about a week and then toss a few sinking pellets in and see if it goes after them.
