Please help me ....is this a disease or just a b as title wound?
It is more a dull gray vs the white as it shows in the photo...

Eeeegh that water!

The guy on the left definitely looks scraped up. I think heat and salt will cure him right up. Their bellies don't look sunken, so they are probably eating okay. The guy on the right looks like he is either healing up from an even worse wound, or is having an infection spread from a smaller wound. Hard to say with him, the spreading shape is very strange to see 'just' from a bump, yannow? Do you know if they were housed with any other aggressive fish that may like using the top of the head for biting?

thanks for the input.. I will keep an eye on him before I purchase in the next few days...what type of bas is in your screen profile? It looks really nice..

That is a juvenile Cichla orinocensis, which people will call orinos. They originally come from the Orinoco River, but have been bred in captivity. I'm about to update another thread with pictures of what she looks like a bit more grown.

I would say scrapes too. My young pbass had similar scrapes too but they have healed already.

Thank you for the responses. ..so you think this is an orino? Being sold as " peacock bass"...aren't the Orino harder to find and more expensive?
