Peacock Bass growth rate?

Hi
At this moment in my tank i have two lima's at around 4 inches a Tiger X at about 5 inches a Hoplo at about 6 inches and a Gar around 8 inches.

The question is i have been ofered a peacock bass at 4 inches.
Is he safe rom the Gar and will he grow fast!

sorry i've never owned a gar but from what i've seen of them it would be able to eat the bass, but whether it's fast enough to catch it is another story

and YES, P.Bass grow very fast IME

there's a good chance the gar will try, I'd grow out the peacock in another tank first

i dont have a gar but i no someone who doese if the bass is the same size or bigger it should be ok

it probably is safe from the gar (don't count on it though) and should grow fast. i reported this to have it moved to the Cichla subforum

Try the cichla subforum. Pbass can get huge very fast, but I don't think you should try keeping them together until later
