i have two peacocks that i just put in a tank yesterday they were together in a tank before..they seemed fine the first day...one bass is 11 inches and the other is around 7 to 8 inches... the bigger one seems like he is trying to hurt the smaller one by chasing it around the tanks and nipping at his body especially the tail which is now frailed and split from the attacks.. is this because of moving to a smaller tank than which purchased them from.. is this normal for this breed and will it stop after they get used to the tank.. it is a 55 gallon tank.. i purchased the fish from a person that had six peacocks in a 100 gallon tank...i picked the smallest fish of the entire tank... please any help i dont want my smaller peacock to die from the attacks of the bigger one.. in process of purchasing 100 gallon

Dithers!!!!!

whoohooo more fish!!!

Is it just those two fish in the tank?

yes just two fish ...the guy i bought them from said they would be fine for that size tank but as they grew to upgrade...

Well a 55gal is small for a 11'' bass.

i also had that issue with my pbass...they were like around 2 to 3 inches......they were also in a 55 gallon tank.......i do agree Mr. Hay.....the tank is a little small for 2 medium size pbass......its may soon be time for you to uprade for a 90g.....and withh more room to escape....eventually less damage..........

A 90gal would be better, just for the "width" wise factor. A 180gal would be prime for the bass for a while.
