i was wondering at wat size can peacocks spawn at, and dont the males get a larger forehead or (nuchal hump)... also can temensis breed with orin.s or wateveer the name iss ????? help need answer

nope never seen a tem breed with an orino. monos and ocellaris in the wild yes.... your best bet is 2 monos for i have seen it done quit often. yes males get big hump on there head and i say when they reach13-14 inch you can get them to spawn... that is if everythings perfect and you have a large enough tank.

yeah thnx.. ill have to wait on tryin to breed them seeing as i dont have the rooom for a couple of them.. maybe ill try something smaller....

I think they need to be around 12 inch before they really reach maturity.

I have seen 7 inchers with big humps though...

I know of a few ppl in AUS that have done it in a 6x2x2.

Of course bigger is better though....

Monoculus and Ocellaris usely can mature at about 12" in the aquarium and about 10" in the wild. Both are not too difficult to spawn in an aquarium 110 gallons and larger. Water conditions play a decent size factor, and they must be fed properly, I have seen so many times someone having a pair of cichla and not getting a spawn and as soon as I take them beef them up for a month or two.....BOOM! eggs are being dropped.

As for Temensis and Orinocensis cross breeding, I have not seen it done in the hobby or any farms, but it is done in the wild. Temensis and Orinocensis are much harder to spawn because it takes 3-5 years just for them to mature. Most hobbiest don't have what it takes to properly spawn Temensis. Whether it's the tank space, patients or drive:
a) Must have a large enough aquarium
b) Must be dedicated to Tems Only (for the most part)
c) Water conditions has to be right on point

Most people that have large enough tanks, do not want to dedicate it solely to Temensis, They would rather house it with multiple community predators. And most people don't want to deal with the hassle of prestine amazon water conditions to get Tems to spawn.
