Hello all... I just signed up for this forum as recommended by someone from my regular Oscar forum (theoscarspot.com) ... I have much experience raising/breeding new world cichlids... I have raised oscars, convicts, GT's, firemouths and other cichlids for years now... I have only recently discovered the beautiful Peacock bass after wandering around at my LFS...I am very interested in getting one but need some more info ... Please tell me... what is the SMALLEST tank I could get to allow ONE peacock bass to grow to maturity and sustain a healthy happy life in that same tank... I have read that some species of P-bass don't get as large as others... but the tank requirements are not clear... some sites say I need 300+ gallons... some say 100 is fine for the smaller species.... Please... help me... also tell me if there is a way to ensure I get that species I want (the smaller variety) ... are there tell tale markings...is there a place online you could order them where you know what you are getting???... I am building the tank for this fish INTO the wall.. and will therefor not be able to change its size once in there..
any help/advise would be greatly appreciated
Thanx
