ok i just bought three peacock bass at about 4in and i was wondering whats best for them at this size...like feeder guppy, flakes, dried shrimp, dried blood worms, live blood worms, etc...which is best?

What were they eating at the store? most likely feeders. I have my grow outs on frozen mysis, blood worms, diced smelt, silverfish, NLS pellets and occationally treated rosie to keep mental stimulation up. Feeding a 10" to 20" bass only live will eat you out of house and home.

it wasnt the store...but the owner said that they are eating on dried blood worms but when i tried it nibbles but spits it back out and does the same until the worm is on the bottom of the tank...so is there other dried food or pellets tat fits them?

Its up to the fish right now till you get them trained to something else. At 4" though, they are to small to starve them to different foods. Try frozen

try that too no luck

Have you try getting them on Massivor pellet.. maybe breaking to smaller peices so they can fit in their mouth

started mine on feeders then work them over to raw shirmp and cichlid sticks..best of luck.. i have three 18in temensis

I hate to say this but it may be hard to get them off live. You could be making a commitment giving them some feeders. Even if they bite dry food it's a start, my mono would let it fall right in front of him while he waited for the live stuff. A bite is a step in the right direction at least. Either way good luck, i'm sure he will eat the feeders, but if possible I would keep them in a separate tank and feed them 1 at a time with cubes or something. Keep his options open. Enjoy you new fish.

i train largemouth bass fingerlings to eat pellets by placing several tilapia of the same size with them. the bass seem to follow their lead on eating pellets. hope this helps
