hello all, I recently purchased 3 ocellarispeacock bass cichlids and they are an inch and a half long, about a week ago for my very established 125 gallon tank with 3 aquaclear 110s. They were devouring black worms a few times a day with the occasional rosys and guppys. Now one of them has a slightly swollen anus along with not eating as much if not anything. Now I just noticed this today, but it does have me worried. He kind of seems to be shy and timid today as well I only have a silver dollar in the tank with them about 2 inches long and he never harassed them so I don’t think it’s stress related. Does anyone have any idea ? He also is skinny looking

I am going through this with one of three of my new bass as well. Others suggested I treat with Praziquantel to treat for internal parasites. It is found in API General Cure, and some others. I will let you know how it goes, but I would recommend you go ahead and start a treatment for your fish as well.

Ok , that’s good to know. I will go out and get some just Incase but I did notice one thing today, when I put blackworms back in the tank he went right after them as if his appetite came back I may do a little dose just to be safe though

I would also add aquarium salt too,

Always follow the manufacturers instructions, never under dose.
