I have seen peacock bass videos with very big bass and very small ones in the same tank what keeps them from eating each other ? I have a 8 1/2 ocellaris and a 2 1/2 inch kelberi what size would it be safe for them to be in the same tank without cannibalism? They are in separate tanks currently.

Hard to say honestly, I’ve had 12” bass with 6” bass and they’ve co existed without eating each other but you have to understand each bass has a different personality and they could change in a heartbeat and eat the little guy. I wouldn’t trust it untill your bass is at least within 2-3” of the big guy
