well ive seen a bunch of tanks with peacock bass. i need to know everything about them and where to get them.

I got mine from snookn21, a vendor on this site. But when you say you want to know everything about them do you mean tank size, temperament, tankmates, help us out there are lots of different species also. Did you have a particular kind of cichla in mind?

yea stuff like that. like i see theres alot of different kinds...are there any certain ones to keep away from?

I would keep away from temensis since they grow fast and get pretty big unless you have a big enough enclosure for one.

which ones stay pretty small. like 12-18 inches?

If I recall I think kelberi and intermedia are the smallest ones? But they're pretty expensive and hard to find ):
