how many gallons do these fish require???? lets say two alone in a tank, how big will they need???? people say they grow about 30" but that won't happen in a tank for years right??

All depends on the size of the tank. They will eventually be 30", if you hold back their diet and smaller tank it will take longer but if you don't or are not planning on a tank 300g+ then I wouldn't even attempt it.
