Hi all,
I recently added two peacock eels to my 45g tank. One is very small (maybe 2 inches) and the other is a decent size (about 4 inches). The PetSmart I bought them from said they feed a mix of pellets and frozen brine shrimp cubes, but I am having trouble determining if they are eating at all. I have yet to see either one eat or seem interested in food. Mostly they are in hiding, but even when trying to feed them at night I can't seem to get them to eat. Any suggestions? I know they can be fussy eaters and I just don't want these little guys to starve.

I added the smaller one yesterday and the bigger one today, so it is still early, but I rarely even see them. The tetras I added yesterday have already started feeding. I'm mostly worried about the little one since it is so tiny.

Give them more time but I personally would try frozen bloodworms also.

Give them more time if just new. Keep an eye on them as they’re aggressive toward each other and on occasion the bigger will not let the other eat.

Would do as tlindsey mentioned. Can even try live black worms too.

I have had one about a year now quite a picky eater will only eat live or frozen blood worm black worms white mosqueto larvae or tubfix didnt see it eat for about 2 months so I used to put blood worms in the tank at lights out. They can vanish in the substrate for days and you may think they are dead.As I type now i have not seen my one for 3 days. I have my one with tetras so target feed it with a turkey baster.
