my peacock eel which I really care for and enjoy having is just gettin his ass whooped by my ctenopoma. I really like them both and wouldnt want to part with either of them, but for now, my eel is so much harder to care for. What should I do? I dont have the money to keep buying earthworms all the time. Let alone, keep them alive. I dunno what to do....

What is the size difference? How long have they been living together? How big is the tank? My ctenopoma leaves all my eel like fishes alone but cichlids he'll chase but not harm. If you dont have them already I'd put in some tubing for hiding spots for the eel so it can escape the ctenopoma. And if it does get worse you'll probably have to get rid of one of them or end up with a dead eel.

I don't think that it will stop, but once the peacock eel gets sizeable he might fight back, I think that ctenopomas just like to bicker, it's not like he wants to kill the peacock its just something to occupy his time. My ctenopoma also goes after my tire track eel, and my current tire track is around 17 or 18", the one before was over 2' and he did the same thing. When the tiretrack gets fed up he head shakes him and it can be viciuous especially at feeding time, ctenopoma ends up looses scales but not heart I've had the combo for the length of time I had the leopard leaf 6 years he has always done it, he wants to establish dominance which can never be his. Is your peacock is getting stressed out if so I would separate them.

You could try a mirror to divert the attention my guys loves to fight with his own reflection, you could also set up caves and hides for the peacock eel that he can not get to.

As far as feeding try switching it up with some insect larve, shrimp, ect, if your worried about money buy in bulk and freeze (not earthworms, they do not defrost well)

ive had them both for about 1 year. up until now there were few complications. The eels got lots of hiding places, sand, moss, driftwod but the ctenopoma keeps chasing him down and trys to bite him. The eels about 8 inches while the ctenopoma is about 3. The eel used to bully him around but now its different. He doesnt even fight back. And about the food for the eel, i have tried bloodworms multiple times, krill, brine shrimp, pellets, dried shrimp, the only thing he will eat is live earthworms. And if i were to buy in bulk, how can i keep them alive without having a huge compost bin. I dont have a big apartment and cant have a stinky smell in there....

my tire track will not eat shrimp either and he only eats blood worms occationally, when I can guilt him into it. Try super worms (bettle larve) or wax worms (moth?) my guy loves them. You can buy them in bulk and freeze them, defrost as needed. Earthworms as I said do not defrost well you would have to keep them alive

i havent also tried mealworms, he wont go for them, they dont move underwater and also they are too crunchy. The worms cannot have a hard shell so I am assuming my only option here is earthworms.

My Leopard Ctenopoma is the same way with my Senegal Bichir, i'd set Ctenopoma at the same level as Cichlids because of they're aggression. I would try to add more places to hide for the Peacock otherwise you may need to deal/seperate them
