Thinking about getting my first spiny eel. my lfs has these listed as yellow spiny eel, my guess is it is a peacock eel but just wanted to hear what you guys think. srry for the cruddy cell phone pic.

Doesn't look like the Peacock Eel I used to have. It might be a Zig-Zag, but I'm not an expert. I wanted one too awhile back. Almost never saw it once I put it in my tank.
yea i knno they like to hid but if it is a zig-zag imma get a 20 gallon and do a simple set up with a few plants and sand.
well without seeing the tail i cant say absolutely that its not a peacock, but if it has no eye spots back there then no, its not. back when i started with spiny eels i did a lot of research on them, reminds of one called a zebra spiny eel, sorry, cant remember the latin name. but if it is a zebra it should stay smaller than even the peacocks. personally id like this fish. its something different, i love peacock eels but i just see them so much ya know. might be a good buy, how much do they want for it?
its not a peacock... thats the only type of eel ive ever kept(easiet to get 4 me) and that my friend is not 1
