Hi, i just bought 2 male peacocks there around 2 1/2" one is a ruby red and one is a german red. The ruby is startn to get rly good colors the german is showing some color. I was wondering how fast do they color and grow

Are they alone in a tank? What size? If you just got them, give them a week to become acclimated. The dominate male should have the best coloration. I have heard of beta males losing some of their color due to hormones from the alpha. Weekly water changes helps reduce that.

At 2.5", I would expect them to start to color up. At 3" it will be even better. What are you feeding them? Try some Omega One super color.

i cant add pics i only have internet on my phone and my phone wont let me. But the ruby is showing some rly good colors part of his body is black but u can see the orange comeing in trew his juvie stripes the other is either a benga or german the breeder had them mixed in a tank he bought them to sell. Its fins are orange and and around his body is yellowish but turning orange. He has a blue face and what part of his body that dont have orangish yellow is blue tint. Im feeding the color up food from kensfish.com ive had the fish for maybe a week in a half now and there in a 35g to grow by them selfs

i found out the one fish i thought was a german red is a hybrid that my local breeder is trying to make its a fire/blueberry peacock mixed
