Peacock mantis shrimp:starting 20gal first salt

I'd be more worried about the mantis biting back after getting stung. A galss aquarium would be ok, they never broke any of mine. Most anemones get too large for a 20g tank. Only ones I would consider are condy anemones. But if you get those, you can't keep corals. The reason being is cony anemones move around. A LOT. Put them one place, and an hour later is on the other side of the tank. It could kill or stress any coral it touches. But if I were you, don't keep corals. Especially with a mantis shrimp. Most corals at the very least are 15$ and adove, and that's only for a 1 inched mushroom. You'd be waisting money keeping hard corals as well, they need STRONG light and lots of current, others like polyps and mushrooms wouldn't do well with a mantis.

It also takes some training to get them off live food, and even then, shrimp and other frozen fish foods aren't the best for them. You best bet is to find a source of crustacens, preferably crabs.

Kk i heard a condy anenome is awsome with mantis shrimp. So i rlly wanna try that. THnx for your help any other things that pop into ur head be free to fill me in. And the food i mean is like the freeze isle frozen shrimp. Basically thaw it in garlic power and feed the little dude

Well is there any easy to breed crabs at home? like maybe crayfish outta the river???? Or somethin simple.

Crayfish would work well. Condy anemones would be good for you, maybe 3 could fit in a 20 gallon. Don't be surprised if you find either the anemone or shrimp dead though. Like I said, the best setup is the mantis shrimp and live rock alone. Where do you plan to get the mantis shrimp? Condy anemones are also cheap, around 6.50 at my lfs.

Well the mantis probly wld be ordered from off here if someone has a good site or had one and condy ordered from my lfs or if someone here has one. but i have to get my tank and supplies first. And where is a good place to get live rock cheap too. I also heard grade 10 cut up coral is a rlly good substrate

mayb if i get it all soon engh u can buy 2-3 anenomies and ship to me n i pay

what would be a good saltwater tank heater?

kk thnx for all ur help tho im sure my lfs can hook me up
