I would say minimum 15-20 gallons.And try getting acrylic,because an adult can easily smash through the glass.Give it sand(I'm pretty sure 5-6 in).Feed it things such as crabs,shrimp,snails,and if you can get them to take pellets,go ahead.Try to keep lighting low.Ummm yeah that's all I can really give you...
Anywhere between 10 - 15 gallons is more than adequate for a mantis.....they dont need any sand in a tank, heck, they can live in a complete bear bottom tank...all they need is something like rock for hiding places....good meaty staple diet and low flow is all thats needed....
for a peacock i've heard people reccomend from a 20L to a 29-30

Sorry I am a little late on this. The Peacock is one of the most awesome pickups you can get. Stunning colors and believe it or not very smart. They all have there own personalities. Acrylic is best. 29 gal. or larger tank. Mine loved sand. Have plenty of sand. Build a little cave out of some live rock with plenty of smaller rocks for him/her to move around. They will redecorate the tank a lot. The only thing I was able to keep mine with successfully were 2 clown fish that would stay in there carpet. Be ready for his/her appetite. Lighting is not important. for the mantis. The only thing you have to worry about is shell rot which I never had a problem with. GL man. Feel free to PM me if you need any one on one advice. They are remarkable creatures. You will love it!!!!! Mine just recently passed away do to my fault. (he somehow got into the filter) They are very hardy and will live a long long time!!!!!
