Recently a local shop received a 4-5 inch chicla occelaris on trade in. It may be another form of Chicla but thats what it looks like to me and its the only species we seem to see around here. I have a 120 show I perform good husbandry on and that is basically stocked. I am considering throwing the cichla in this tank for a month or two so I can grow him to 6 inches and then move him into my predator tank. (gar, bichirs and NTT datnoids)
Should I be worried about him/her getting spanked by these other fish? He may be big enough for my predator tank which I would try first, but if not I need a backup plan.
Cichlid tank fish and size, one of each.
9-10 Veija Synspilum (Red Head, Blue Eye)
9 King Kong Parrot
4-5 belly crawler pike
4 Honduran Red Point
5 Spotted Severum (quarrelsome)
