My orino (4.5 inches) has just got his new tank mate, a silver arowana (10 inches.) The arowana loves my floating hikari food sticks which judging by the pic on the packet are made for arowana. He had a bite at one but didn't eat it. I'm starving him to see if he will eat them. Will they be nutritional for him even tho he's not a arowana? Also will he ever eat them, he's been eating live brine shrimp prior to this.

Absolutely. The formula in the Hikari sticks is the same as in their other preparations. They use different shapes to make the food more appealing to different types of fish. Like sinking pellets for bottom feeders etc.

I always suggest mixing the food up a bit, so offer different prepared diets or some frozen krilll or Mysis too.

My wild Brokopondo ocellaris started eating my hikari sticks within 4 hours after bringing him home. I have the exact sticks.

Just yesturday he started eating hikari cichlid bio gold floating pellets as well. Now he gets both types of pelleted foods daily.

The bass will learn quickly off the aro. I trained my ocell babies off feeder by throwing in a few congo tetras and rainbows. Bass where smashing food sticks in a week.
