wonder is anyone has had success with both bass and vampire tetras in a tank. I was a little concerned that an aggressive bass might beat up onthe vampire's.

I don't think they will keep up with the pbass' growth rate....

I actually had a 3"-4" temensis in with my armatus who at the time was 6". During a period of about 2 months as the temensis grew he was always getting punked by the armatus. Well also in that 2 months the tem grew to be about 6"-7". The bigger he got the bolder he got. So as much as the armatus would dish it out to the tem would give it right back. Unfortunatel had to get rid of the tem cause he was messing with my prize fish!:irked: I could be possible depending on size of either fish and the sp. of payara(vampire tetra). If you are gonna try it try to get the redtail payara or if you got a stack of money laying around an armatus. A regular payara would just get jacked IMO:D . GL!

I've got a friend keeping an armatus with Cichla and the armatus regualry give the PBass a hard time. I think as lons as they are close to the same size and the tank's large enough there should not be any issues.

Just keep an eye out because you never know what will happen. For example I came home one day and my tem had a bloody eye. Right away I knew who did it, the armatus. It is possible but be cautious can it can become real ugly real fast!
