Pearl and Silver .

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
From what most say here the answer is "no" but I have seen many tanks w/ them. It's probably a gamble and all the stickies say at 8" the Pearl, or Jar, gets super aggresive but as I've said, I have seen many tanks w/ Jars and Silvers all over the 8" mark.

it is possible. i've done it in the past but the silver was twice the lenght of the jar.

OK thanks i think i wont do it then , just incase they do end up fighting to much end up killing each other .

Next thing to ask is -

Could i keep a Pearl Awo' in a 4x2x2foot tank 120Gal for life or not ? i dont think i could just would like to double check .

im doing it right now...i have 4 silvers, 1 jar and 1 green
but the jar is smaller than the silvers and keeping 6++ arows curbs aggression. however i have to feed them like 3 times a day. and im still seeing early signs of aggression from the baby jar. depends on the individual fish also. good luck!

Havnt got room to get a 6x2x2 so i think i'll just not get a Pearl and think about getting something to go in the 4x2x2foot tank .

Planning to do an indoor/ shed pond early next year to house my Silver Awo' , my Oscar and a few of other fish . Do you think i could but more than one Silver Awo' in there or should just stay with the one i have got to go in there ?

I was thinking on get 2 more so i have 3 in the pond in total .

See picture for size .

there would be plenty of water in a pond that size, wouldnt it require a fair bit of heating in england though??

So i could put 3 Silvers in the pond no problem ?

The shed will be getting insulted , all walls , roof , floor and even the sides of the pond .

It will have a large 2KW heater . Then in the winter times i will place a stand in heater in the shed to keep the air warm and provent the water freezing .
