I got a 1ft pearl arawana. It died last week. Before it die I gave some shrimps.I send some of it to a lab to do a text. The result sows that there was some Formalin. Is that possible it can be poison a fish because we use Formalin as a treatment for fish?????????????

Welcome to MFK!!!

It all falls to concentrations. Formalin, as a preservative, is a 37% aqueous solution of formaldehyde. That concentration is deadly to living tissue. The formalin used to treat fish infections is a 10% or less concentration of the chemical.

Sorry for the loss of your aro.
