just want to know how i can make almost or most of my plants get the pearling/ bubbles on them. the way that moss catches bubles and looks like little pearls.. i am useing a 29g tank around 4 inch of substrate sand plant mix. and a 65w blue/white compact 30inch light about 5 or 6 inch off top/rim of tank and the water level is 2 inches from rim of tank i also have the flexable bubble tube stuff running across the tank every inch from front to back so that the almost every inch of the tank can be aired if needed. and i am running co2..mabey 19ppm?..i have turned the air pump low as poss. and the hob valve almost off but there seems to much/big bubbles to catch the leaves how can i achieve pearling?ohh and im useing a 405filter hidden behind the rock wall so mos ect.doesnt get in it and the water flow is very slow
will try and post some pics later
thanks:popcorn:

also failed to mention i have a bubble laddr and counter but there off brand..and sitting under the tank not in use

Very unlikely to ever see pearling using homebrew co2 (ladder system) it just doesn't get enough co2 into the system. BTW are you using a drop checker, also blowing air bubbles into the tank isnt real benefitial when your pumping in co2. To much surface agitation.

sorry for confusion.. the bubbles/ airstone/wand..what ever u may say is were the co2 comes out of i tapped into the air pump line and did a 2 into 1 conector or "Y" set. and as for surface movement, it just seems to be the bubbles there is no real surface movement with the filter/pump.
mabey im asking for to much?lol i just see the pearling on mags and want my tank to be popin like theres.and pics are comeing by today.just have to scare my fish out of all the rocks for pics lol

Pick yourself up one of these and drop the wand. It doesn't break the bubbles up enough.

I have pearling in my 40g breeder using 2 Hagen C02 fermentation cannisters with ladder diffusers. The ladders actually work great, by the time the C02 bubles reach the top of the ladder they are almost completely gone. Will try to get a pic of the pearling and post it tomorrow.

If you're Nitrite is climbing then it sounds like your tank is cycling, dose with Prime to protect the fish from the Nitrite and Stability to boost you beneficial bacteria. Check you don't have a dead fish or something rotting in there, that could be causing an increase in ammonia which in turn is causing the increase in Nitrites.

yup..i found 2 corys and 3and a half shrimp under a rock by the heater..must have all climed in there and got stuck since there is ample room for atleast 1 1/2 corys to get threw it

THAT will allow pearling. The ladder system works UP TO 25-30 gallons, and since 2 are in place enough Co2 is getting into the system.
