Pearly White Calvus Cichlid

I think this is the right thread. Has anyone on here breed these fish?

I was just looking on-line and seen that one place had these fish for $47/ fish 1-2". Is that normal?

For a 2"er that is the price. Expect 20 bucks for a 1" fish also.

Does anyone know of any books that pertain to breeding this fish?

Yes I did read through the link but for some reason it just sounds too easy to breed these fish. Maybe I am just reading to much into it. Maybe it's the price on the young and the time needed for growout. I think I will have to order about 10 youngens and give it a whirl.

Do you know if they like a little current or hardly none like a Discus. I can put about $500 into a setup that should last a couple years. It should be large enough until I will be able to pair them up in say, 3 or 4 years. Sound about right. I also found Wild Golds at 3 - 4.5" for $59/fish. Which one is more sought after?

the cost is that they take forever to grow, they are also water quality is life and death, can die easily when young...

I got my 1" black calvus for $4 from a local breeder.
