I'm treating my tank with medication, i was wondering if i should take out the peat moss or not? does peat moss act like carbon when medicating the fish tank?

Peat moss and carbon are different. What med are you using and what are you trying to treat? What is your pH? What are your hardness levels?

i just picked up some wild caught uaru fernandezyepezi and they're fins/tails are showing signs of burn/rot. i'm using maracyn 2 to treat and my ph is around 6.5 right now.

What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?
Did these fin damages happen before or after you introduced the fish to your tank?
Are the fish in quarantine tank?

I personally would simply do water changes. Add salt (sodium chloride) at a teaspoon per gallon.

ammonia and nitrite are 0
nitrate 20

they are in my 35 gal quarantine tank. two have died since purchasing them. i have added salt the first day purchasing them but haven't added any since. Should i continue adding it daily? or just after water changes. thx

Redose after water changes. I'd do water changes daily.

Wha symptoms and unusual behavioral patterns did the two deceased exhibit?

they didn't show any weird symptoms, they were all eating flakes, pellets and veggies. however when i woke up the next morning they were stuck to the filter.

They must have weakened enough for the filter to suck them easily. I'd cover the intakes temporarily with pantyhose.

Still dosing Maracyn 2? Any updates on the fins for improvements? I'd just add Maracyn 2 in foods. Make gel foods. Use 250mg per 100g of food.

i'm still dosing with Maracyn 2 and salt when i do my water changes. The uaru's act normal and are very aggressive while eating; however the fins are still torn/ripped
