Now I've read the sticky on the PH for bichirs. Now my tank has a PH of about 7.8 at this time and when I add Congos/Butterflys they like more neutral water to slightly acidic water. Could I add Peat Moss to the filters to lower PH naturally or even put Riccia inside if so where would one put it.

Thanks

Peat will stain your water brown with tannins. You should probably just do WCs with RO water.

Yup... regular WC greatly lowers the PH...
That's a rather wrong impression. It depends what you were doing to the water prior to changing it. If somebody is using RO water and combining it with tapwater as well as adding tannins, that would indeed lower the pH due to low buffering capacity or lack thereof (depending on the tapwater). Tapwater in itself has varying hardness levels depending on the area so water changes does not necessarily lower the pH.

? Water conditioner...Mine does not lower PH and I use Prime. I read that Carbon takes the Tannin out. Is that not true?
Carbon does remove tannins.

Bottom line, no need to change your pH. Stick to your usual pH and avoid stressing your fish with your constant fiddling over water chemistry unnecessarily.
