peat moss for aro?????

do people use peat??? and why? how do i get started??
is it better for them?

Peat will add tannins, and may help soften water and lower Ph. So if your species prefers softer water and low ph, peat could be beneficial. One downside is that it will stain your water and make it "tea" colored.

I would say that discus/neon tetras would benefit most from using peat. Don't know anyone who uses it with their aros.

i noticed that most aro keepers and lfs would add black water to their aro tanks.. yeah, the water looks like tea, yet the aros look calm.. the black water is supposed to imitate the aro's natural habitat..
