5 miles from that one place
30 gallon tank with 3 german blue rams and a pleco. Thinking about adding 6 or so more rams or 3 more rams and a firemouth. I read that german blue rams do great with peat moss as filter media. My question is: has neone used this before? Can I use that in a aquaclear 500 hob filter and if so how without making a mess of the tank

You get stuff such as peat balls, peat pellets and blackwater teabags that do actually look like big teabags.
These are what I know about to lower ph in an aquarium, however i have never needed to use them. From what I have read they work much like using crushed coral in a filter and they slowly dissolve over time creating the desired effect.

In the long run a reverse osmosis system may be cheaper for reducing your ph.

Yeah I have pretty hard water but the fish seem to be happy in it. I've been told a couple methods of lowering ph. Which is only around 7.4 to 7.8. Little high for my rams but completely livable
