Dead skin is not their main source of food. Their main food is just like other tropical fish (Flake, pellots, algae wafers, etc..) They have found that usually do not eat dead skin unless food is scarce. Basicly you have to starve them in an aquarium to get them to eat the skin.
They are used in other countries to treat patients with skin diseases. They eat the dead tissue away and do not touch the good tissue. They are actually banned from export in turkry for fear they will be overfished. These guys also come from other middle eastern countries like Iran and Iraq (and to think I thought this war was over oil.)

Not that I am aware of. They are related to the panda Garra which is an algae eater.

Yeah...i heard that it's $45 for 15 minutes.
