My pellegrini has been laying on the bottom of the tank for 3 days now, normally hes very active and swims around. I am currently doing another water change, before today the last time I did one was Monday of this week, Hes very inactive now and refuses to eat. In the beginning he was still eating. I checked my water parameters and everything was fine, ammonia was a little high, thus another water change. I have seen him flick on the gravel, he doesn't have ich, considering I keep my tank temp high. I don't see anything like worms, or fish lice. He has these random freak outs where he darts all over the place. Ive had him 6 or 7 months and he has never done that.. I am moving to Florida in 15 days and all my fish are coming with me, which I know is going to put a lot more stress on them, I rather not have him going with me sick, so I would like to cure him before I leave. I don't know what is wrong with him. Any ideas? I don't want him to die. Hes my favorite fish in my tank.

I have a breeding colony of pelligrinni,i have lost 2 males that way(never lost a female)it seems that they just stop eating and die,i have replaced my males twice and every time its the same thing after between 7 months to a year. Not sure if this is why they are not abundent in the hobby. All mine were wild caught,i have a spawn of fry right now and i will raise a few males from this spawn to see if i have the same problem with f1's than i do wild caught, now all my females are fine most over a year old.
I tried everything to save my males nothing worked, they showed no outward sign of being sick except they stopped eating and started laying on the bottom(exactly like yours),good luck hope u can save him,if you do let me know what you do,will save me alot of money replacing my males every year.

What do I do? I don't know what to do! I love this fish! I don't want him to die!!
