pellet training armatus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My armatus always went right after the floating freeze dried krill after a few days of starving so it shouldn't be too hard with the right pellets.I would suggest using the ones that are kind of hot dog shaped,Hikari carnivore sticks or something similar.

in my experience the sooner the better, dont wait... i just bought a baby 3-4 inch Armatus and he started eating sinking carnivore pellets within 3 days, and now loves them... Meanwhile my big tank of Datnoids and African tiger fish have been eating silversides and krill for 6 months and now have been starved for 2-3 weeks and still refuse pellets, although they are getting closer to eating them day by day they are still being stubborn... i believe right when you take a fish home from the lfs is the best time... however, because of the stress of moving, i would try pellets first, but dont starve right away, since he's trying to acclimate to a new tank

Yes! I found stuffing shrimp w/cut pieces of massivore works. After a week of this, soak the pellets w/shrimp and a few drops of water. So far, this is the best combo I have experienced w/fish in general.
