Well, a little luck, 1 out of 5 is going for the Massivore. It's now Friday and the last time they got NC/shrimp/Silversides was on Monday. The only one that is going for the pellets is my 5" Leo, the following will swim over it, pause but then keep moving:
- 5" male Motoro
- 6" female Motoro
- 7" female Hystrix
- 5" female Hystrix

How long did it take you guys to break your rays? Are Hystrix harder to break than Motoros and Leos?

Thanks

i just concern that they still too small to be starved and train pellet if i were you i would let they get 7" up first then train ,,,my wild caught marble motoro 10" i starved him for 2 days with turn off light and 10% water changed day 3 eating pellet

What is their favorite food?? I would feed them only the favorite food for one week, then soak massivore in the juices of the shrimp/NC/silversides. Then starve for a couple of days and feed the soaked massivore. I recently converted my P14 pup to massivore using this very method. I'm now slowly soaking with less "juices" until only massivore. Currently, he's eating with just a dab of juice and have not tried just massivore yet but looks promising. This process took me about a week. Remember to refridgerate the massivore as it will quickly become rancid if left out. Good luck!!

I also would say they are too small to withhold their normal food. With time rays will eat just about anything but at that size I would continue to feed what you have been and mix in some pellets here and there. They will come to realize that it is food.

It's been my observation that if they are given what they like and additional food added they eventually try it and like it starving or withholding what they like only slows growth and could even cause problems....The if they see another eating it they will not resist long!!!

I broke down and fed them worms. I'll try again down the road. For every feeding I always soak massivore so sooner or later they should go for them.

I feed my ray pups mixture of chopped up fish and shrimp meat.

I train them on hikari sinking carnivore pellets .

A method which works for me is to crush the pellets into powder and rub them into the meat/ worm whatever u are feeding . Just like marinating chicken with spice powder for grilling .

After a while they accept pure pellets easily .
