I bought a baby pbass 3-4 Weeks ago.
The owner told me that he's only eating feeder guppies.
A week after I got him to eat frozen bloodworms.
What can I do to get him on pellets?
I occasionally feed my baby arowana pellets and the pbass wouldn't accept it.

What are some tips?

ok so this is a no fail method.

Keep feeding bloodworms but throw in the whole frozen cube. once he eats the cube whole you got him.

Take a tray of bloodworm cubes pop them all out and defrost them in your favorite cereal bowl. mix in your pellet of choice 15 percent to start, mix and spread mixture back into bloodworm tray, refreeze. pop out a couple and feed bass. he will take it. then make higher percentage pellet to worm cubes and continue to feed. soon he will be wacking pellets. Be forwarned as to one of my other threads. It may make your fish a little, how do you say, fond of the male bass with the big hump.

the other element that helps is competition, or more bass. this makes the process even easier.

My bass is starting to eat big pieces of bloodworms

Everytime I put pellets in the tank he just looks at them

How can I get him to eat pellets?

Thaw the bloodworms, crush the pellet into fine powder and mix with the bloodworms use a spoon and slowly add the mix to the tank. The bass will injest the fine powder and get a taste for pellets, once he is eating this mix well then add more pellet powder less bloodworm etc until he takes only pellets . I got my wc pinima to eat pellets in 4 days I also had him in a bare bottom quarenteen tank I believe this helped as well because he would eat the bloodworms off the bottom along with the crushed pellets at first he would some how seperate the bloodworm from the pellets and spit out just the pellets then he started to eat all of it, it is a messy process so alot of cleanup until he takes to it but well worth it. Learned this method from other members here and it works great. Good luck
