How the heck do you pellet train a Datnoid?

I have 5 Datnoids- They will eat frozen foods and worms, but when I drop in pellets they look at them like

Do you fast them of other foods until they decide to eat them?

I have added a koralia pump to blow the pellets around giving them "life" yet no luck.

They were supposedly pellet trained... :irked:

use the starving method, you might have to starve them for a day and than they might except pellets

Get some dithers who will eat pellets. Such as tinfoil barbs or silver dollars. Feed them pellets only and starve them. Thats how I got all my dats on pellets

i went from live
to market shrimp
to frozens
to massivore
to FD krill
to food sticks

long process, but no starving required.
hope this helps

My baby NTT won't even eat frozen food. It is live or nothing atm. He is very active, and not very shy at all but won't even look at food if it is not swimming. And being young he is not the best hunter. Will try starving him after a few more days, just want to make sure he has a few good meals first.
I have heard a method of soaking the pellets with bloodworms for a few minutes. Try giving that a shot. Also if they are eating frozen food such as blood worms try dropping in pellets at the same time as bloodworms. Ignore this if you have tried these methods just some ways I will try if my lil guy eventy eats frozen food.

They have a school of tin foils in there that eat pellets- the dats dont even look twice at pellets.

I'm going to be making an extra tasty gel paste for the ray- maybe the dat will go for it too.

I've tried the soaking method.. no luck.

So, starving them it is.

Well, I made a gel food for my rays that they are starting on tomorrow..

The tin foils eat anything- so no worries there.

The only option the dats have is gel food or ray poop.
