Pellet training

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think it's easier if you're able to seperate the bichir to a smaller tank by itself, and fast it until it starts going for pellets.

I've been able to get my delhezi, sens, and endli's to take pellets, but the other wild caught specimens would rather starve even with concave bellies so I gave up.

The way I see it now, if you want to get into bichirs, you pretty much have to plan on buying raw market shrimp and earthworms lol

A great idea I got from Rich is to thaw all of the shrimp you buy and cut it up and seperate it into portions that way you don't have to spend time defrosting the shrimp every time you feed.

my birchirs eat anything i drop in their tank, carnivore pellets, krill, blood worms, shrimp and hikari sticks.

yeah it shouldn't be a problem. A few days w/o food and he will probably eat anything you put in the tank.

not difficult to train bichir to eat pellet . all of my bichir eat pellet (sinking )even my 12"Ornate eat pellet ... just give your bichir enough time to adjust for the changes u made w/ their diet ..

I am going to try and get my Ornate bichir on Massivore over the next week.

mine just needed a 2 day starve and they ate the pellets all depends on the fish...
