Hi guys , i just joined the forum today ;) . I will be getting a 5" IT tmr :headbang2, the previous owner told me that he feeds the IT with live feeders . I do not really like live feeders because they might contain diseases and stuffs . Is it possible to pellet train ? Should i get a packet of feeder to fatten him up 1st ? I intend to use hikari canivore sinking pellet because of its quality and i have a spare packet at home . I will be getting massivore delite after i sucessfully pellet trained my IT because LFS near my area sells them in a big bag , afraid the IT does not take pellet then i wasted the whole packet . Any advice on pellet training the IT ? :)
Thanks in advance guys :D

sure its very possible, depends how patient you are lol, i had to starve my 5" indo for 1 month and its eating pellets, massivore to be exact.. best of luck though

It just takes patience to get him onto pellets. Skip the feeders. Get some frozen shrimp and frozen bloodworms. I'm sure your dat will take that

Hilari massivore, carnivore, sinking cichlid gold, and crushed up algae waifer.
I mix all the above 4 in a tub. And feed the mix daily.keep doing that for many months. If they get start to get waifer thin(u just have to use best judgement) , then throw in chopped prawns, let then feed, then back to pellet ONLY routine .
Time and paitence .

Have other fish in the tank that eat pellets. Then it's not a waste if whenrhe tigers don't eat them.

nice indo! I would throw in some bloodworms.. make sure there are some strong feeders in the tank (fish that eat anything) even if u have to get some dithers for the time being like giant danios.. later on theyw il be clean feeders..

put in blooodworms and the dat will see other fish eating.. the dat will eat... then when u throw in bloodworms just start introducing pellets... eventually the dat will eat them.. mine did!
one of my dats LOVED tropical crisps, the others never ate them once! depends on the fish too

haha actually this IT is alone with a pair of motoro ray . do you normally defroze the frozen bloodworms before feeding ? i'm using the hikari brand and lots of them wont sink :)

Do not thaw the bloodworms, they float.. soon enough the dat will realize its food and eat the entire block.

U should honestly add a topwater feeder to teach the dat how to eat pellets.. african butterfly or baby arowana? Best approach i have used.

i'm actually considering a green aro , as in singapore asian arowanas are common . if the green aro is 8" and my tiger is 5" will it be fine ? or should i get a smaller piece ? what other dithers can i consider to use? :)
