He guys I recently aquired 5 2 inch red bellied piranha. I want to get them eating pellets like hikari gold and massivore. Anyone have tips toget them top eat these. Also if they get hungry enough what are they more likely to do, cannibalize each other or go for the pellets? Also is frozen lance fish okay to give to them?

Don't feed em for a day then offer once a day everyday until they eat em. It'll only take a day or two. Cichlid bio-gold+ is top of the line. Nightcrawlers are great food also, high in protein.krill, shrimp, tilapia fillets should all be in their diet. Variety is the key!

I fed mine at a young age frozen bloodworms and than I went out and got some Omega one pallets that were red and they ate. Now I just toss any type of pallets and they eat it. Good luck

Massavore pellets might be the best sinking pellet, but they are not the best pellets for piranha. Bio-gold+ is the best pellets for piranha n helps their color also. N your question about hunger n cannibalism. Piranha can n will cannibalize right after a meal.cannibalism isn't always about hunger. More aggressive pygos n macs can be very bad about this. Rbp are hit n miss sometimes.
