Is there an easy (or reliable, at least) way to get a bicher on pellets? My ornate refuses to eat anything but bloodworms and feeders (and I want to get him off the feeders!). I feed all the other bichirs and cichlids pellets (two kinds), occasional fresh fish and freezedried bloodworms, but he won't eat them.

simply only feed pellets, the ornate will get the picture and will gladly take pellets after a couple days to a week.

I use Hikari 'Sinking Carnivore Pellets'. My Ornate loves them.

One day I decided to buy him his first feeder fish and all hell broke loose. I lost my orange pike and he woudn't eat anything else but feeders. So I done what X24 said and he eventually got hungry enough that he started eating them again.

All I feed him now are the pellets and different frozen foods. He also loves beef heart!

The pellets are available at www.drsfostersmith.com

My ornates eat HBH super cichlid sinkers. All I did to get them to eat them was not offer anything else.

Mine all greedily gorge on New Life Spectrum, it is the best thing for them. He will get hungry enough to take pellets.

Starve him and eventually he'll take pellets. After a fasting period, drop a pellet in front of him and he should take it.

Try feeding at night just after you turn off the tank lights-Anne
