I've bought different kinds of pellets since last year & some still have a lot in them..
This happens as I wanted to try different pellets for my previous fh cause he was choosy..
& now I can't seem to finish the pellets before expiring cause my fh frys obviously won't be able to consume so much..
What should I do?

I would take the pellets and mix them in a Shrimp mix (The frozen kind) thats what I did with my leftover pellets.

You could also donate them to the fish store, then they won't go to waste.

Expired pellets can be fed. They won't harm the fish. It's just that sometimes the preservatives can lose their ability to preserve and prevent rancidity. As long as the pellets SMELL OK, they are OK. Rancid pellets smell odd and unpleasant. The nutrient that typically creates rancidity, is fat and fish foods are not extremely high in fat content. The higher a food's fat content, the quicker it will become rancid. Most foods can be used beyond the "Best if used before date."

Thanks for the info..
Somehow the XO Humpy Head pellets always smell weird, its fat content is only 3.8% but the protein content is 58%..

You can also keep them in the freezer to extend the shelf life.
