I'm going to try and get my rays to eat pellets. i'm going to not feed for a couple of days before i give them to them but would you mix them in with normal food (ie prawns etc) or would you just give them the pellets?

its been done both ways, i would suggest putting prawns or thier normal food in a bowl with the pellets for a while first and then try feeding them the pellets i found that if you put thier normal food in they will just pick that up...

if not while you are starving only offer them the pellets...

What brands of pellets would you guys recommend? I've been thinking about trying them on my Leos. I think I'd definately have to get sinkers for my guys and so far I've been coming up thin finding sinking pellets at local stores. I used to order HBH's sinking pellets online when I had other types of fish but they broke down very quickly as soon as they hit the water.

never heard of them... let us know how they work

How would someone know if a food is good? Do we assume that if they eat it, it is fine? Or do we wait for them to get sick?
I may be ouerly cautious but I would only buy from a reputable brand. Fish food seems to be an easy market for snake oil salesmen. Mabey I am just synical.

My $.02:confused:

So what brand would you recommend???

I don't have a personal brand preference as I am new to this. I was more asking a question than trying to say that I had any solid input.

Several people say that Massivore pellets are the best, but they are pricey. I would be apprehensive buying from an ebay seller selling non branded pellets. For all I would be able to tell they could be cat food or hamster bites. ;) I would think that any quality proven SA cichlid bite would be adequate for a maintenance food, but I would go to a massivore type pellet for breeding.
