so i an ebjd in my community tank, theres zero agression since hes lived w/ them his whole life. hes about 3-4" now and i want him on pellets. now ive converted all my cichlids from flakes to pellets wence they have grown big enough but this guys tricky. i use hikari floatin pellets and he doesnt even notice them. hes tried one once and never again. so most ppl will say skip feeding a day or two and he'll start eating them, but i dont wanna starve the other fish. any tricks out there?

o and good to be back, havent posted in months

thats the thing cuz my tetras and cories need to eat, should i just starve everyone?

Your EBJD will sooner or later eat your tetras.. I'd separate them if I were you. Once separated you could starve your EBJD into eating pellets. Starving it for a couple days will not hurt your fish. If you really are dead set on not starving your fish, try mixing the pellets with Bloodworms and feed them both at the same time then over time slowly remove the BW's and soak the pellets in BW juice but don't feed your fish the BW's. THe smell of the pellets should be similar to the BW's and he should eat it over time. IMO starving for a couple days beats the hassle of BW's.

The word "Starve" is a little harsh here, your just not feeding them for a week or so... the cories an tetra will be fine.

All my fish eat the same 1mm pellet, yours will probably do fine if you just feed that. Some fish don't get the hint that food is food until they see another fish eat it.
