Pen Plax Canister Filters

I have been running a pen plax canister filter on a freezer full of bait minnows foe a few months now and I love these. I have the 1500 model and the flow rate is great. there's 5 media baskets that are completely customizable and it comes with the spray bar or jet option. the spray bar is 30" long. this filter runs quietly and is very simple to prime, fill can with water and push primer three times and off it goes. I have no complaints about this filter and for 120$ I highly recommend it. the clamps are similar to that of eheim as well, very strong and lock down well

I miss my old 1200, you can't beat those with a stick. My buddy, I believe is still running it, purchased it in '04. Even the hang on filters were great. Penn-plax was the work horse of my old fish room.

I've had a 700 on my 55, along with a Marineland 350 for the last 4 years and it is a work horse! The flow is low on the 700 model but the 3 big baskets are nice. Also as you mentioned the priming is super simple and the price is right! I think my model was like $80

yea these are great little filters, I was a big fan of the 1500
