it doesnt say its kinda wierd but I guess the 900 means maximum aquarium size.... but I would guess not more than 900 probally have to adjust with the valve till you get proper media expansion

I dont think it would be worth it then because you couldnt put enough media in there to make it worth while fluidized bed filters are great even at low flows to high of a flow will mean less media meaning less surface area which in turn means dirtier water... why are you so intent on using such a huge pump???
can I suggest running the pump into a Y fitting so you can have a ball valve to control how much water goes through the sand filter and the rest can be pumped back into the aquarium.......
